When The Birds Sing

When the birds sing at night, nobody is listening but only hearing the shrill cries of beauty in a sky of hurt, pretty sounds in an arrogant world where people sleep as the evening darkens. Gun shots. Run lots. We choose to snore and not to explore, and when we are implored to change our minds, our eyes roll. One day the birds will stop coming; their melodies will crash to a halt. The people will finally wake. Yet when we start to listen, we will only regret.

S. R. Lee, a Korea-based writer, finds joy in nature's beauty, cozy film nights, and above all, the art of crafting poetry. In the embrace of landscapes, they draw inspiration, while evenings bring solace through cinematic tales. Yet, it's within the lines of poetry where S. R. Lee's true passion ignites, expressing the world through words.
