Humanity's Tomb

The rising of the Severn will subsume my grandpa's grave
The murky green water that he would sail on as a kid
Threatens to wash his ashes out to sea
He told me a story once about sitting on the sea wall
And letting the rivers ebb and flow clean
The worries from his soul. He wanted to be laid to rest
By the brackish water that brought him comfort
In his darkest times. She's welcoming his return
With a vengeance for years of abuse, prepared
To reclaim her abusers and awake them
From their deepest slumber, drag their bodies
To the sea and desecrate the shrine to man
That is their grave, for the tomb of man lies beneath the sea
